What a touching story. It's so hard to see how kids are treated in certain parts of the world. I'm impressed by your courage in taking on a task like this, it's so generous. Yes one day she will learn that mommy always comes back, and I hope she gets rid of that insecurity sooner than later. But reading this post, I know she will. You are just so full of love.

Hi Lisa,
I really enjoyed the story "Crime Stopping Mommy".... It made me laugh... I can imagine you chasing down the crooks and then calling the cops!!! Criminals talk to each other and your street will be labelled as high security - no go zone!!! Great to hear you have settled into your new home and Kajal is progressing well. In relation to separation anxiety... I read a book that said children that stay home with mum from zero to 4 don't experience it when they start school as they know mummy and daddy will always come back, whereas children that go to day care do experience it when they start school... I supposed the level of separation anxiety is related to the childs past and experiences... Early experiences are critical... Anyway, all is well in Sydney... We are crawling out of the financial crisis & slowly bouncing back... Dominic is turning 4 on 13th March, Roman just turned 2 on Christmas Eve and Claudia is turning 1 on 29th March.... Love to Lisa and Kajal.. John Stathis, Sydney Australia XXX

Dear Lisa,
Lee had lots of hearing difficulty when she was little. Tubes in the ears worked miracles. Consider them if the fluid problem is not quickly corrected or recurs. We are thrilled that Lee and Ted will be producing a baby boy cousin for Kajal on or about April 24th. Love, Aunt Louisa and Uncle Billy

Hi Lisa-

The same thing happened to me when I was Kajals' age- for quite a while my parents did not think anything of my hearing problems, also with reassurances from docs that it was nothing- it was only after a teacher suggested that I might have mental retardation that they realized something else might be wrong-hearing problems can be tough to catch in young kids, especially when there are so many other things going on. Did you know I wear a hearing aid cuz I am deaf in my right ear? Talk to you soon, and sending you a lot of love.

Dear Kajal's mom

I don't know how I got to your blog, but I am glad that I did. Thanks for sharing your beautiful experiences with your daughter Kajal.
