The shooting of Congresswoman Gifford - death and politics

Kajal and I are watching the news. She's sick again. We had a great day yesterday then after watching a movie she fell asleep. Taking naps isn't normally her thing but we were all exhausted from a day of running around so I didn't think much of it. She woke up disoriented and burning up with fever. The doctors office has told me there are tons of viruses floating around and they have been getting calls from parents consistently so I'm trying not to worry too much. Switching off the Tylenol and Motrin and keeping her comfortable.

This morning we have been watching the news and I found myself explaining to her a bit about why bad things happen, even to good people. We talked about what judges and what happened in Tucson.

We are so saddened by the tragedy in AZ. As you know, I live in South Carolina, where the new Governer chose Sarah Palin as a spokesperson. Who does that? I am stunned at the growing popularity of this woman who was incapable of answering questions relating to geography, international relations and countless other nationally related subjects.  In South Carolina and throughout the country people are believing  in Palin and it terrifies me.  Sarah Palin put Giffords District on a target list with guns pictured across the district... Who does that? How do you place guns across a district of land represented by people and not say you were calling them to arms. Does she think this is a game, that guns are a game or that we should be using guns to make statements politically? I believe Sarah Palin created this tragedy!  The tragedy where a congresswoman known for her bi partisanship and kindess, her caring for her constituants is shot in the face when all she's trying to do is meet with her people to hear what's in their hearts. Where a 9 year old girl was killed, a girl the age that Kajal is turning.

We are all sickened and heartbroken.
