Bad dreams, good dreams
Kajal climbed into my bed in the middle of the night.. Mommy I had a really bad dream. Cinderella's witch was really scary. I curled her up in my arms and whispered her back to sleep. This morning when we woke up, the nightmare was still very clear to her. I know Mommy, God sends good children good dreams and bad children bad dreams.
My heart about broke, here it was again... my little one's belief that deep down, she was really a 'bad' child.
I held her hand, no, baby, God doesn't do that. First of all, you are a good child. Not only good, but loving, kind, sweet and smart and so many other wonderful things. Everybody has good dreams and bad dreams, even Mommy. God doesn't punish children like that and he definitely knows that you are a very special and very good child. Nobody is perfect though... we have good days and bad days, we all have good behavior and sometimes, bad behavior. Dreams sometimes come to us because it's our minds way of working through something.... like homework. Trying to figure something out. Sometimes, we just have bad dreams because we watched a scary movie.
She thinks about these things I say... then we have a competition to see who can stretch the most, which leads to a ticklefest and lots of giggles and laughter.
